For this task we are going to use security focused Linux distribution Kali Linux . Among many other security tools installed in this distribution we are going to use chntpw utility.
In this post I am going to show how to install OTRS 5.0.26 on CentOS 7 and then restore backup that was taken on Debian 8.7 system.
OTRS (Open-source Ticket Request System) – is a ticketing system which provides organized and centralized way to manage end user support requests, complaints, inquiries and other types of communications. In other words it provides end users with a single place to report issues and IT help desk with single place to respond to issues. Which provides more systematic approach to resolving reported issues, proactive prevention, time management, statistical analysis and other useful benefits.
This 2 part article explains how to install OTRS Help Desk 4.0.10 on Debian 8.1
1. Download install files “otrs-4.0.10.tar.gz”.
root@otrs:/# cd /opt root@otrs:/opt# wget http://ftp.otrs.org/pub/otrs/otrs-4.0.10.tar.gz
2. Extract “otrs-4.0.10.tar.gz” to “/opt” directory.
root@otrs:/opt# tar -xzvf otrs-4.0.10.tar.gz
1. Before installing new video driver (fglrx) for AMD graphics accelerators and Catalyst Control Center (amdcccle) remove old fglrx and amdcccle with command:
sudo apt-get purge fglrx*
2. Reboot system.
sudo reboot
3. Install the linux generic header.
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic
4. Install vide driver and Catalyst Control Center.
sudo apt-get install fglrx-updates fglrx-amdcccle-updates
